Last Wednesday was awesome because it was Labour Day! Yay to public holidays, why can't they just make Wednesdays an official weekly off day? Either that or give us 4 work days a week and make Friday, Saturday and Sunday weekends!! Sounds way more awesome, don't you think? Two days are really not enough to recuperate from all that stress and turmoil suffered from work! :( So... last Wednesday I finally managed to have a little date with my boyfriend! Recently, he's been super busy preparing for his final exams and that leaves us really little time to hang out for real. The only times that we actually get to hang out will be to Starbucks at Liat Towers whereby I'll read my book while he studies. Really quite happy to pick up my long lost reading habit once again, it really reminds me of my younger times when I was quite the bookworm. So, on the day that we can finally go dating, W decided to plan everything! It's kinda funny how I managed to guess where he wanted to bring me to, what he bought as a surprise for me, etc. I really did manage to guess EVERYTHING that was in his plans. Is it telepathy or...?
Yay, a surprise to kick start the date!
Cupcakes from Plain Vanilla at Holland Village. Salted caramel is sooooo damn good, mmmm. I need another one! You can pass on the banana chocolate though!
TADAH! Here comes the real deal, what better lunch than the KFC Ironman buddy meal on our Ironman Date!? :D Verdict of the meal - just get the two piece chicken meal. I'm sure it'll be more satisfying than the Ironman Hero burger!! Woody highly recommends you to get the student meals at $5 each and not waste a further cent to try this burger. LOL. I guess the way the burger looked was totally different from how it looked on the posters and he was quite disappointed with it.... But the normal chicken and cheese fries were awesome though, hee.
Hahahaha, the both of us can't wait to tuck in!
Then halfway through town I met my beloved Xiaomei! It's been so long since we last hung out, really miss the times we worked together last time. SO MUCH FUN & LAUGHTER :*)
We popped by Bugis Junction to have a look at the many Ironman figurines going on display at the main atrium space. It was so crowded but quite an eye-opener.. All photos credit to W!
Then....! Came my favorite part, hahahahaha. Blackball!! How can anyone not love it!? Okay I must admit it really it kinda overpriced, and it's not as nice as the one we had in Jiufen back in Taiwan last year. But it is afterall, the closest we can get to it. More on the Jiufen taro balls in my next Taiwan travelogue post... But for now, I'm h o o k e d. To the point that I have it almost every week......
Thank you baby for always bringing me to eat Blackball! ♡♡♡
After satisfying our tummies with Blackball, we thought we will be too full for dinner. In the end, we had bibimbap. It was just a sudden surge in craving... And my craving was satisfied indeed. I have never been a fan of bibimbap till this year, because I always thought that rice and vegetables were a boring option as compared to Korean BBQ food!? Nonono, I am so wrong.... ^^ I love the way the food sizzles in the hot stone pot, mixing in the egg yolk and charring a little of the rice at the bottom. Charred rice is a w e s o m e. Oh! After that we went to catch Ironman 3! It was great and I enjoyed it, but some loopholes here and there, left unexplained.. Woody told me to go google it. Okay....
After typing this post, I can't help but to feel hungry now. It's a quarter past 1AM by now. I should fight my hunger pangs by turning in instead. So much for trying to tone up, why am I getting hungry at such a timing.... Good night all! :*) And thank you for reading my blog, everyone. Really appreciate it :D :D If you have any questions about anything, including Taiwan, you can email me at contrabandlovee@gmail.com. I'll be more than glad to help in any way I can :) *throws heart confetti* ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
P/S: Praying for May to be a good month...
