041 - National Day long weekend (Part II)

By Melody Tan - 10/06/2013 03:10:00 PM

Good morning sunshine, starting the second day of our staycation at Swissotel.

The view of the city in the morning, such fresh air! We were up early today because Woody was bringing me somewhere, and it is a surprise :)!

Silly polaroids of us before we head off.

So....here's where we are heading to. SENTOSA! Well, it was super crowded though, because all the tourists and foreigners also wanted to enter Sentosa on a public holiday...

NETS Flashpay ez-link cards aren't accepted yet, so we had to queue to buy the entrance tickets... By the way, the entrance fee has increased to $4!!! So expensive :(

Tadah, we arrived at Beach Station (if I'm not wrong).

Spot Wally Woody. See how crowded it is?! Everyone is heading for RWS SEA Aquarium! Thank goodness we were headed for....

Adventure Cove Waterpark!!!!!!

Touristy but must-do photo

YAY!!

Super excited me heading in without him first, hahaha.

Changed and put our stuff in the lockers. One small locker costs $10 while the big ones cost $20 each. OMG. Most expensive lockers ever.

The place wasn't that big, we managed to finish most of the rides, leaving out only 2 or 3 because they were either lame/almost the same as the others. Couldn't bring my camera along as I don't have waterproof equipment, so here are some photos we took after everything.

The Adventure River which we didn't get to complete, quite long a journey! As you float along the lazy river, you can see the stingray bay (which we got stuck there for a pretty long time because EVERYONE WANTED TO SEE THE STINGRAYS!).

You can also float along the cave....

Wave pool, weeeee~

Read about dolphins.

Atop at the adventure lookout.

We saw dolphins!!!! This is the nearest we could get, the dolphins were pretty big and kept swimming around the little pool. Heard the dolphin area is opening to the public soon.

We also went snorkelling at the Rainbow Reef!!!! Omg what an experience, both of us have never tried snorkelling before so it was quite scary when we first started. The water inside was very salty, and there were little fishes everywhere. The snorkel goggles kept getting foggy plus the guy in front of me kept stopping to take photos of the fishes inside so I had to float on the spot to wait for him to move. It was quite annoying. And Woody managed to drop the snorkel part of his goggles down into the sea bed..... I can't even. O_O In the end, we managed to finish the snorkelling route and I really liked the experience!!! Especially when all you hear is the sound of your breath and everything under the water seems so serene. I definitely would like to try snorkelling in the natural waters someday!

Didn't manage to capture any photos of the other rides, but there're the Dueling Racer, Spiral Washout, Tidal Twister, and the most exciting of all would be the Riptide Rocket!!! Here's a description from the RWS website:

Have a blast at Riptide Rocket, Southeast Asia’s first hydro-magnetic coaster. Like an intense rollercoaster on water, it combines all the powerful climbs, plunging drops, terrifying twists and tight turns to set your adrenaline pumping.

It REALLY felt like a rollercoaster on water!!!! You'll be sitting on this filmsy float and you will actually go down and up the slopes.... OMG I swear I screamed throughout the entire thing. Just when I thought the scary parts have ended, there comes another up and down the slope. Your butt will be lifted off the float as well. We totally had no idea what we were up for when we queued for about 1.5 to 2 hours for this ride.

Fishie plushes for sale.

My favorite time of the day.

I have no idea why, but swimming or simply just being in the water will make me really hungry. Here's where we settled for dinner - Hyang To Gol Korean Charcoal BBQ Buffet! There was an OCBC debit/credit card promotion of 20% off.

Korean BBQ buffet style, bowls and bowls of Korean food goodness.

You can order your Korean BBQ meat dishes here.

Yummm, what a feast!!

Woody kept raving about the pork neck meat.

After dinner, we headed back to the hotel to rest....

Good night.....

The next morning! Fresh and awake!

Wearing a dress I bought in Hong Kong.

Camwhoring time because he was on the phone...

It's OK if you're busy, I'll just take some photos anyway..hehe.

Getting ready to check out.

Went to TWG Tea Salon & Boutique on the Bridge at Marina Bay Sands for brunch.

Look at their wide selection of teas, I wonder if there are any duplicates actually, because is there really a different kind of tea leaf for each name...?

I love TWG macarons, but the service at MBS TWG sucks. It really annoys me to have black faced Pinoys serving me there each time I go. They just don't bother maybe because the macarons are cheap at $2 a pop? The previous time I went to buy macarons, they didn't even have any intention to serve the people buying macarons till I asked one of them to come entertain us. Seriously....

Still liking the black one most.

Food was not very fantastic as well, a pot of tea costs an average of $11 and most importantly, the service sucks. I doubt I will head back there for brunch again.
