001 - S14 Class Gathering

Just yesterday, we had our JC class reunion dinner! Almost the whole class came, except for just a few others tied down with commitments. I'm quite surprised most are still quite spontaneous, and it wasn't as awkward as what we all think of it to be. I haven't met most of them for about 5 years now, after receiving all our 'A' level results and graduating from college. I baked gingerbread men and women for the attendees, because it was easy to bring around and light as well, unlike cupcakes and whatnot. I got my recipe from here. I would recommend adding double the amount of ground ginger and cinnamon though, because I personally felt that there was not much of the spices' taste. It was on the sweet side. The gingerbread dough turned out smooth and they were baked to a perfect shade of brown.

I packed the gingerbread men individually and put them into my red Santa bag, ready to be given to them!

We went to Irodori Japanese Restaurant at Riverview Hotel for our Japanese buffet dinner. We paid $35++ for the buffet dinner per adult, which summed up to $41.20. I thought that the range of the food choices was quite little, plus some food were abit weird (e.g. tamago sushi and green tea rice). The service wasn't that good either, the waitresses always seem distracted when you're telling them your orders plus they note the orders down reaaaally slowly. Maybe because the restaurant was very crowded on a Saturday night. But one thing for sure, I won't be going back there any time soon.

Because of the large number of people we had, people sitting on one side were very far from the people on the other end. I could tell JY (who was sitting in the middle) was trying very hard to entertain both sides. The scene was pretty entertaining to me, hahah. We were also entertained by how FQ could stuff the whole handroll into his mouth.... I passed around the bag of gingybread men and it really is a good feeling to see everyone smile :) We waited for everyone to finish up their last orders before we took a few class photos and bid goodbye...

Most of the girls headed home, while Josie and I stayed on with the guys for post dinner drinks. As JY said, it was class gathering before and now clique gathering after. Hahaha. It indeed brings back memories to how I was always the only girl tagging along with the huge group of guys back in JC, after Josie and Elicia left me all alone there :( We headed to eM by The River to sit down and chill. I have long wanted to visit the place, and the atmosphere really is nice! There're both indoors and al fresco areas for your preference. We chose indoors as it looked cozier. Adrian finally joined us after a loooong wait. But by the time he came over, some of the guys were leaving..

The guys were teasing me for the gingybread men by giving reluctant faces.....

If you can't beat them, join them!

After a round of 5-10, we had our dai sai losers. LOL. Gonna make it a point to not team up with Tim anymore!

And that's all for the night! All of us agreed we were getting old and all wanted to go home and sleep. We used to hang out till 3 or 4AM, now it's 1AM and byebye good night! Really happy to see everyone again, we should stop meeting up as if it's our AGM :)
